NH Task Force to Examine Civil Trial Discovery Rules
An article in the August issue of Bar News, reports on the creation of a group of NH lawyers and judges that will study the state's rules on discovery in civil trials.
The initiative was motivated by the release of two reports from the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS), that called for reforms to shorten the burdensome process of going to trial in a civil case. The recommendations include more involvement of judges in supervising the discovery process, and limits on discovery according to the scope or size of the case.
