Bar Journal - September 1, 2002

INTRODUCTION
In our efforts to continue to build connections, we are proud that this is the 11th year that Franklin Pierce Law Center has collaborated with the New Hampshire Bar Association in publishing the Annual Survey of New Hampshire law. As New Hampshire's only law school, I believe we bear a clear responsibility to New Hampshire's legal community. Our graduates comprise over one-fourth of the lawyers in New Hampshire, and we strive to seek ways to help the New Hampshire legal community grow and develop.
With the opening of the new Buck Building, featured on the cover, we hope to provide more collaborative opportunities for Pierce Law and the New Hampshire Bar. We are a resource in this state, and we take seriously our duty to give back to our community.
In this issue of the journal, New Hampshire Bar attorneys gave valuable time and advice to students researching a range of topics. Their input has been invaluable for helping students navigate complex legal issues and processes. We hope that in the future, these same students, should they remain in New Hampshire upon graduation, can similarly offer guidance, expertise, and thoughtfulness to their Pierce Law successors and other members of the greater legal community.
We deeply appreciate the staff and editors of the Bar Journal for all their help in publishing this issue, and for the guidance and expertise of the New Hampshire Bar Publications Committee. We look forward to continuing the tradition started by Justice Duggan and working with the New Hampshire Bar Association to make the Annual Survey a success in years to come.
