Aloha to New Lawyers
ON NOV. 14, the NHBA New Lawyers' Committee hosted a reception for new and recent admittees at Franklin Pierce Law Center. (October 2002 admittees were presented with leis as a colorful way of distinguishing the newest admittees from the rest of the group.)
Members of the committee and of the NHBA Board of Governors, as well as other Bar members, stopped by to mingle with newer members of the Bar. The committee encourages Bar members at any level of experience to join the committee to widen their circle of professional contacts, support a forum for discussion of issues relating to new lawyers, provide mentoring to newer attorneys, and to simply have fun. It is also a great way to find out about the myriad of services and programs offered to Bar members.
Supreme Court Justice Linda Dalianis, Franklin Pierce Law Center Dean John Hutson, NHBA President Marty Van Oot and New Lawyers Committee Chair Jennifer Parent addressed the gathering. Members of the NHBA's Legal Services and Member Services departments were on hand to answer questions about volunteer opportunities and member services.
The New Lawyers Committee thanks the following sponsors for their generous donations to the reception: Smuttynose Brewing Company of Portsmouth; Coca-Cola, NNE of Belmont; and United Beverages, Inc. of Concord.
