Bar News - June 20, 2003 NHBA•CLE Reaches Across the Pacific ONE OF THE first to try the Online CLE option offered through this site was a Bar member living in Pago Pago, in the Pacific islands of American Samoa, working for a legal services organization there. American Samoa, a possession of the United States, is located 4,800 miles southwest of San Francisco and is nearly perched on the International Date Line. Join that attorney and many others who have found out how easy it is to earn NHMCLE credits online by visiting the Bar’s Web site and arranging for online viewing of a program, paying a set fee per credit hour. The attorney from Pago Pago viewed his program on a weekend, immediately received an NHMCLE credit acknowledgement, and, in an online evaluation form, said that it was "relatively easy [to] find what I needed." You don’t have to fly to Pago Pago or even Timbuktu to benefit from NHBA CLE’s Online CLE options. Just visit the Continuing Legal Education page and select the Online CLE option. The site has a "system profiler" that tells you whether you have a computer setup that can handle online CLE, or, if not, what you will need. Prices are based on the credit hour and all programs – comprising a number of NHBA CLE programs and programs offered by other providers – are NHMCLE-accredited. If you have need for programs in specialized areas, contact CLE Director Joanne Hinnendael at jhinnendael@nhbar.org to suggest areas where programs are needed. Through an arrangement with a national vendor, LegalSpan, the NH Bar has access to online programs from dozens of bar association CLE providers, as well as the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and other legal education organizations. Original NHBA CLE programs are regularly being added to the online lineup, so check regularly. See page 17 for more about NHBA•CLE online.
