In Memoriam - Francis F. Faulkner
FRANCIS F. FAULKNER, 80, of Keene, a 50-plus-year member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, died May 22, 2003, at Cheshire Medical Center after a period of failing health.
Faulkner was born in Keene July 1, 1922, the son of Philip H. and Katherine H. (Kingsbury) Faulkner. He resided in Keene most of his life.
He graduated from the Loomis School in Windsor, Conn., and from Amherst College. He earned his law degree from Boston University Law School.
Faulkner was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, in which he served as a B-24 bomber pilot.
He was admitted to the NH Bar in 1950 and opened the Faulkner Law Firm in Keene, where he worked his entire career. The firm today is known as Faulkner, Freund, Worthen & Caffrey, PC. He was also a member of the Cheshire County Bar Association
Faulkner served in the NH Legislature and attended the 1956 Republican National Convention. He was a trustee of the Augustus Saint Gaudens Memorial and a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Keene. He was also a past president of the Keene Lions Club, in which he was very active.
He enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of the Keene Country Club. He also enjoyed playing the piano and acting in local theatre, having participated in a number of amateur theater and Lions Club productions. The last Lions Club show of South Pacific was dedicated to Faulkner.
Survivors include a brother, Philip H. Faulkner, Jr. of Keene; three sisters, Ann Jacobs of Keene, Martha Jones of Northfield, Mass., and Jocelyn Bolle of Francestown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
