Bar News - July 4, 2003 Trouble Calculating Your MCLE Certificate? Get E-Help Calculating Credits Will Soon Be Automated FOR ALL LAWYERS who fret and fumble over the Certificate of Compliance, help is on the way! The NHMCLE Board has an automated version of the Certificate that will be available soon on the NHBA Web site. The new technology will allow lawyers to enter all the same information as on the paper form, but the automated version will compute not only the section subtotals, but also the year-end totals and carry-over credits for 2004. Douglas Chamberlain, chair of the NHMCLE Board, says the new form comes in response to comments from last summer’s member survey. "Many lawyers told us that the form was too difficult and time-consuming. This new method is a first step to ease the process for those who are mathematically challenged or who just want another method to make sure their entries will meet all the requirements." Lawyers enter their program information, the form automatically totals it and lawyers are directed to print out copies for both the NHMCLE Board and their own records. Members are encouraged to check the homepage for updates on when the automated form is available. It must still be mailed into the NHMCLE Board with a postmark no later than August 1.
