Court Issues Rules on Variety of Areas
 

At Press Time...

THE NH SUPREME COURT on Aug. 27 released an order with 27 appendices, some sweeping and some minor, regarding rules at all levels of the courts. Bar News has highlighted some of the more significant changes with boldface type.

Appendix A - Supreme Court Rule 24 - regarding mandates;

Appendix B - Supreme Court Rule 32 - re: responsibility of counsel to represent clients in criminal cases on appeal;

Appendix C - Supreme Court Rule 33 - wording change to rule regarding appearances by non-members of NHBA;

Appendix D & E - Supreme Court Rule 37, Rule 37-a - major overhaul of the attorney discipline process, rules and procedures;

Appendix F - Supreme Court Rule 38 - wording in Judicial Code of Conduct regarding marital masters;

Appendix G - Supreme Court Rule - application of the Judicial Code to part-time judges;

Appendix H - Supreme Court Rule 39-2 - making permanent rules for appointments to Judicial Conduct Committee;

Appendix I, J,K, & L - revision of Supreme Court Rules 39 and 42 regarding admission by motion;

Appendix M - Superior Court Rule 21 - regarding notice to pro se litigants, and "contact provisions" as they relate to pro se litigants;

Appendix N - Superior Court Rule 64- B - revision of rule regarding juror questions;

Appendix O - permanent repeal of Superior Court Rule 86 (trustees);

Appendix P - Superior Court Rule 87-b - taxation of costs

Appendix Q - Superior Court Rule 169(III)(B) - wording added to transfer of small claim;

Appendix R - Superior Court Rule 195-a - New rule regarding deposition or appearance of minors in court; judge’s permission required;

Appendix S - Superior Court Administrative Rule 1-6 - revision regarding authority of clerks;

Appendix T - Superior Court Administrative Rule 12 - Complete revision of rules regarding marital masters;

Appendix U - Superior Court Administrative Rule 13 - permanently repealed;

Appendix V - District & Municipal Court Rule 1.3-a - regarding notice to pro se litigants (similar to Appendix M);

Appendix W - repeal of District & Municipal Court rule 3.22

Appendix X - complete revision of Probate Court Rules 1-49, and preface;

Appendix Z - Family Division Pilot Program Rule 8 - regarding motions;

Appendix AA - Family Division Pilot Program Rule 21-a - new rule regarding attendance of minors (similar to Appendix R).
