Morning Mail - Attorney Robert Kelley Remembered, CASA Clarification
CLE Staff Remembers Attorney Kelley
The CLE Department was shocked and saddened when we learned about the passing of attorney Robert O. Kelley in the Sept. 5 Bar News. Attorney Kelley, a regular attendee at NHBA CLEs, was one of those people who made us feel especially good about the work we do for this Association and its members.
Because he sometimes would be unable to attend a scheduled CLE due to some extraordinary family responsibilities, we made special arrangements for his attendance. He was so happy when he arrived at a CLE program and saw that we had a nametag ready for him even though he hadn't been sure he would make it to the CLE that day. We always prepared a nametag in advance "just in case."
Never will we forget the day when he came to a CLE program at the Grappone Center and finally met our registrar, Cheryl Moore, who for years had only been a pleasant person on the phone to him - someone whom he never expected to meet, yet who always provided cordial, personalized service to meet his needs. He was so ex cited. He always made it a point to tell us how everyone at the Bar Association was so nice to him. We were happy and blessed to have known attorney Kelley.

CASA Clarification
We much appreciate the Bar News recently including a brief summary of the CASA program and the ongoing need for trained CASA guardians ad litem. We do wish to clarify one matter: our policy of not accepting applicants for training who are currently involved in court cases in a professional capacity. In fact, there are many New Hampshire lawyers, paralegals and office assistants who are currently serving as CASA guardians ad litem.
Let the record reflect that the ambiguity we seek to correct here was of our making, not the Bar News'.
