Bar Takes a Show on the Road
Coming Attractions
NEXT WEEK, THE 2003-04 Member Outreach Program debuts at the Merrimack County Bar Association meeting. The centerpiece for this year's program, which is being made available to local and specialty bars and any other gathering of Bar members, is a multimedia presentation detailing the value of Bar membership. The program, with humor and style, details the wide array of services and resources available to members through the Bar.
"Many Bar members have no clue about the many services the Bar offers, or even how to find out about them," said Richard Uchida, NHBA vice president and chair of the Member Outreach Task Force. "We created this program as a lively, accessible way of describing what's available. The program, produced by Bar staff using PowerPoint and video, makes the program highly portable so it can be shown anywhere," added Uchida.
The program will first be presented at the Merrimack County Bar Association on Oct. 21 at the Concord Courtyard Marriott, and again at the Rockingham County Bar meeting on Nov. 19 at noon at the 1686 House in Kingston. Presentations at other county bar meetings are being arranged.
Direct member services - such as CLE, publications and the Lawyer Referral Service - will be described, as well as public services, such as the Pro Bono Referral Program and Law-Related Education, which facilitate members' participation in voluntary activities. "We have worked very hard to make sure this presentation answers the question, 'What's in it for me?' in a memorable, entertaining manner," Uchida said.
Bar members who wish to have the program presented at their meeting are encouraged to contact Denice DeStefano or Jeannine McCoy at 224-6942 to schedule a presentation.
