Many Chances to Give During the Holidays
THE HOLIDAYS ARE an especially important time to help those in need. This year, the NH Bar Association staff has planned a number of holiday giving initiatives that Bar members can participate in.
As in years past, the Bar staff will be collecting food for the Capital Region Food Program and the Concord charitable organization Friends of Forgotten Children. Boxes are located at the NH Bar Center for non-perishable food donations.
The NHBA staff also selects and wraps gifts for a specific family in need recommended by the Friends of Forgotten Children.
In addition, this year the staff will donate money, raised through an in-house auction of goods and services and through contributions, to The Friends Program, Inc., of Concord. The program provides emergency housing, foster grandparents, interfaith caregivers and junior/senior friends to those in need. This is the first year the staff will be donating to The Friends Program. Last year through the silent auction and contributions, the staff raised $934, which was donated to Friends of Forgotten Children. This year, the goal is to raise $1,500.
We encourage all Bar members to join our efforts by contributing non-perishable food items or donations, which can be left in the collection boxes and jugs at the Bar Center.
For more information about any of our holiday giving efforts, contact Lee Jones or Diane Seguin, members of the Holiday Giving Committee, at (603) 224-6942.
The Bar staff looks forward to another year of charitable giving during this holiday season, and hopes you will help in our efforts! Look for updates in future issues of Bar News.
