Firm Raises $4,100 for Soup Kitchen
DEVINE MILLIMET & BRANCH raised approximately $4,100 during its 7th Annual Tuna Open, on May 6, 2004. The charitable miniature golf tournament was developed to raise food and funds for Manchester’s New Horizons for New Hampshire, a private, non-profit soup kitchen, food pantry and homeless shelter. It is named the Tuna Open to reflect the requirement by Devine Millimet participants to donate canned goods, or cash, to play the course.
"As a firm, we are committed to investing in our local communities and we are proud to participate in such a worthwhile effort," explains Susan Duprey, president, Devine Millimet.
Over the years, the firm has continued to increase contributions to New Horizons, and this year was no exception. In addition to the funds raised, a number of cases of boxed and canned goods were donated to the non-profit organization.
"We have a blast preparing for this event," says Christopher Poulin, an associate. "The nine-hole course is constructed throughout our office by a team of staff and attorneys and we award prizes for creativity and difficulty." This year’s themes included: NASCAR, the Titanic, and the Old Man of the Mountain.
Fred Robinson, executive director of New Horizons, and Susan Duprey, president of Devine Millimet "tee up" during the 7th Annual Tuna Open held at the firm’s Manchester office to raise funds and food for the New Horizons Shelter.
