New Court Clerk to Focus on Customer Service
ON JUNE 18, Superior Court Chief Justice Robert J. Lynn administered the oath of office to the new Clerk of Carroll County Superior Court, Patricia A. Lenz of Rye. Her appointment follows the retirement of Samuel C. Farrington, after 13 years in the position.
In attendance at Lenz’s swearing-in ceremony and reception at the new Carroll County Courthouse in Ossipee was Presiding Justice James D. O’Neill III and members of the courthouse staff, local attorneys and law enforcement officials, and county government officials.
"It really was an honor for me to be selected as clerk and I really want to do the best job that I can here," says Lenz.
Lenz explains that the transition from private to public sector should not be too difficult. Referring to her experience as a Superior Court law clerk, she says, "In a way, I feel like I’m returning to a familiar place, and I will be doing something that I love to do." She adds that she was welcomed very warmly by the court staff.
"Pat brings very good managerial and organizational skills to the job and she has a real commitment to serving the public," said Chief Justice Lynn. "The clerk is the mainstay of any court’s operation and we’re delighted to have Pat Lenz as the new clerk here in Carroll County."
Lenz worked as a law clerk with the Superior Court 2001-2003, the last year of which she was the senior law clerk. She began her career in law with Boynton, Waldron, Doleac, Woodman & Scott, based in Portsmouth, where she concentrated in civil litigation, personal injury, and medical and hospital law. Prior to becoming an attorney, she was the organ donation coordinator for the New England Organ Bank from 1992-1998. She worked with potential organ donors and recipients, their families and participating hospitals throughout New England. She also was a transplant coordinator for the American Red Cross in Syracuse, N.Y. She is a native of Teaneck, N.J.
"I am excited about joining the team at the Carroll County Superior Court and working together with them to provide the best services possible for our citizens," Lenz said. "I would like to increase the level of service we provide in terms of efficiency and responsiveness," says Lenz of her goals in her new position.
