Supreme Court Audio Now Available Online
AUDIO RECORDINGS OF oral arguments conducted since June 9, 2004 at the New Hampshire Supreme Court are now available on the judicial branch Web site at www.courts.state.nh.us. The recordings are free of charge and will be posted within 24 hours of each argument.
Chief Justice John T. Broderick, Jr. said the decision to make audio of the proceedings accessible through the Web site is part of an ongoing effort by the Judicial Branch to enhance public understanding of the court system. The recordings give people who are unable to attend oral argument at the Supreme Court building in Concord an opportunity to listen to the sessions, during which attorneys present their legal arguments and take questions from the justices.
"We hope that our citizens, especially teachers and students, will take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to learn more about the courts," Broderick said. "We believe that these recordings not only provide a complete, unedited account of oral arguments, they also provide insight into the challenges of appellate argument and the people and the issues involved."
