Saltmarsh Thanks Bar Members for Special Retirement Celebration
I WISH TO TAKE this opportunity to thank [members of the NH Bar] for being there on Thursday, May 27, to make my day so special. I also wish to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for the lovely clock and unbelievable monetary gift, which were presented to me by Atty. Edmund Waters.
It has been such a pleasure to work with you during my 36 years in the court system. I would like to think that we have been able, in some small way, to make a difference in the community and in the lives of the people who have come to the [superior court] on a daily basis.
My hope for the future of the court and for the members of the Bar would be that we could somehow instill in the minds and behavior of the litigants the importance of being more patient, tolerant, reasonable and understanding toward each other so that their lives and the lives of their children could make a difference in society. When the litigants are unable to deal with their issues, they not only frustrate themselves but continue to cause constant gridlock and turmoil within the court system and the community.
My husband and I plan to take a trip to Copper Canyon in Mexico in the fall and the unexpected windfall will surely give us a lot more options to take advantage of. I plan to keep very busy in the future, spending as much time as possible with my grandchildren, doing volunteer work, reading, walking and trying to sneak in as much travel as possible.
Many thanks for your generous gifts and constant support throughout the past years.
