Finance Dept. Welcomes New Staff Members

Meet the Finance Staff

THE NHBA FINANCE Department has undergone some recent changes, including hiring a new finance director and staff accountant.

Tom W. Manter was named the Bar's new Director of Finance in March. He replaced Finance Director Margaret Leary, who left to raise her family.

Manter most recently worked as controller for the NH Grocers Association for three years and prior to that as Director of Accounting and Control at Associated Grocers of NE for nine years. He was previously employed in accounting positions at Pepsi Cola in Manchester and Coca-Cola in Richmond, VA.

Manter's responsibilities as Finance Director for the NH Bar Association include financial reporting, budgeting, grant accounting and payroll.

Manter holds a BS in accounting and an MBA, as well as being a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He and his wife have one daughter. The family resides in Bow.

Karen E. Day is the Bar's new Staff accountant, having joined the NHBA in November. She is responsible for all accounting functions and works closely with the Director of Finance to maintain an accurate and up-to-date accounting of all Bar Association expenditures and revenues.

Day is originally from San Diego, Cal., but lived in Texas the past six years. There she served as the Office Manager at Welch Ranches for three years and as the Executive Assistant at Sunset International Bible Institute for two years.

Day and her husband and two children moved to Concord in the summer of 1999.

Dawn Trask has served as the Bar's Accounting Clerk since October 1999. Trask worked part-time for the NHBA accounting department from 1994 to 1995 and has also worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield and Healthsource.

As Accounting Clerk, Trask's responsibilities include maintaining open-item listing for all departments, doing daily deposits, maintaining and processing subscriptions, billing for advertising and doing collections.

Trask and her husband live in Center Barnstead. They have four children.
