Michael Todd Rows for Charity in the Charles Regatta
GIVING BACK 2004
W. MICHAEL TODD, a New London attorney, will be rowing in the 40th Head of the Charles Regatta Charity Program in Cambridge, Mass. on Oct. 23. Todd has been participating in the regatta since1989 and has served on various committees and acted as Co-Race Director for 2000 and Senior Race Director in 2001.
The two-day event has over 7,000 competitors from around the world, who compete in 24 different events.
The Charity Program itself began in 1998 and the participants have raised over $430,000 for selected charities since then. Each competitor must raise $1,250 to compete, with the program matching the competitor’s funds dollar for dollar. The chosen charities for this year are the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, The Home for Little Wanderers, AccessSportsAmerica, the Cambridge Community Foundation and Community Rowing, Inc.
Attorney Todd raised $1,000 last year for the program and has been involved in other charitable sports events, such as the bicycle ride to support the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Pan Mass Challenge to support the Jimmy Fund.
