NH Supreme Court Orders
By order dated July 13, 2004, the supreme court designated the Honorable Thomas A. Rappa, Jr. as a farmily division judge for Grafton and Rockingham counties, for a period of six months. Pursuant to Laws 1995, 152:5, relative to the family division pilot program, the supreme court now designates the Honorable Thomas A. Rappa, Jr. as a family division judge, effective upon the expiration of said six-month period and continuing thereafter.

Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 37, the supreme court appoints Gretchen Hamel, of Concord, to a three-year term on the Professional Conduct Committee of the Attorney Discipline System, which term expires on December 31, 2007. Attorney Hamel is appointed to replace Morgan Hollis, whose term expired on December 31, 2004, and who did not wish to be reappointed.

ADM-2004-0158 In the Matter of Barbara C. Huppe
On December 7, 2004, this court issued an order requiring Barbara C. Huppe show cause why she should not be suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire for failing to pay $300 in fees assessed for late filing of her 2004 annual trust accounting certificate.
Ms. Huppe has neither responded to the show cause order, nor brought herself into compliance with Supreme Court Rule 50-A(2).
Ms. Huppe is hereby suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire. The court hereby requires that Ms. Huppe's trust accounts and other financial records be audited at her expense.
Ms Huppe is ordered to notify all clients in writing that she has been suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire and, by Friday, February 18, 2005, to notify the court that she has completed this task. On or before Wednesday, February 2, 2005, the Attorney Discipline Office shall advise the court if it believes that an attorney should be appointed to make an inventory of Ms. Huppe's files and to take action to protect the interests of her clients.

ADM-2004-0145 In the Matter of Deborah S. Barrett-Smith
On November 29, 2004, this court issued an order requiring Deborah S. Barrett-Smith to file her 2004 annual trust accounting certificate of compliance and to pay $300 in fees assessed for late filing of her annual trust accounting certificate, or be suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire.
Ms. Barrett-Smith has neither responded to the order, nor brought herself into compliance with Supreme Court Rule 50-A(2).
Ms. Barrett-Smith is hereby suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire. The court hereby requires that Ms. Barrett-Smith's trust accounts and other financial records be audited at her expense.
Ms Barrett-Smith is ordered to notify her clients in writing that she has been suspended from the practice of law in New Hampshire and to notify the court by Friday, February 18, 2005 that she has completed this task. On or before Wednesday, February 2, 2005, the Attorney Discipline Office shall advise the court if it believes that an attorney should be appointed to make an inventory of Ms. Barrett-Smith's files and to take action to protect the interests of Ms. Barrett-Smith's clients.
