Jack Sanders Appointed to NH Judicial Conduct Committee
Jack Sanders, Jr., of Pierce Atwood LLP in Portsmouth, has been appointed by the New Hampshire Supreme Court to the state's Judicial Conduct Committee. Sanders co-chaired the Task Force for the Renewal of Judicial Conduct Procedures, which modernized the Code of Judicial Conduct in 2001, and served on the Judicial Conduct Committee from 1999-2002. He has been a member of the NH Bar since 1962.
Steve Duprey Named to Ballot Law Commission
Former State GOP Chair, Steve Duprey recently was appointed to a position on the Ballot Law Commission by outgoing Gov. Craig Benson. Duprey, a Concord attorney and real estate developer, has been a member of the NHBA since 1978.
Charles Bauer to Head Northern New England Defense Council
Charles P. Bauer of the firm Ransmeier & Spellman, Concord, was chosen president of the NNEDCA at its recent annual meeting in Ogunquit, Maine. The council is composed of lawyers from New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine who are primarily engaged in the defense of individuals, corporations and insurers in civil lawsuits. Bauer practices in the areas of employment law, product liability, municipal litigation, and general litigation. He also mediates civil cases.
R. Matthew Cairns Becomes Director of DRI
R. Matthew Cairns of Ransmeier & Spellman, Concord, was installed for a 3-year term as the Northeast Regional Director of DRI at its annual meeting in New Orleans recently. DRI is the largest international organization of lawyers engaged in the defense of individuals, corporations and insurers in civil lawsuits. Cairns chairs Ransmeier & Spellman's litigation practice.
Sari Ann Strasburg Named to Board of American Lung Association
Sari Ann Strasburg, of Strasburg Law, PLLC in Bedford, has been named to the board of the American Lung Association of New Hampshire. She practices in the areas of corporate law, US and international taxation, business operations and intellectual property. In addition to being licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, she is also a certified public accountant. Last summer, she also became a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra.
Patrick Donovan Named Counsel to NH House
Patrick Donovan, a New Hampshire Bar member since 1991 and a former state prosecutor, has been selected to replace Betsy Miller as part-time House counsel. Donovan graduated from Boston College Law School and served as a homicide unit prosecutor for former Attorney General Philip McLaughlin from 1997-2000. He is a partner in the firm of Hatem and Donovan in Salem.
