LD-2005-0001 In the Matter of Gary H. Reiner
The court has been advised that Gary H. Reiner of Kittery, Maine, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on several felony charges. The alleged crimes appear to constitute "serious crimes" under Rule 37(9)(b). The court finds that, considering the nature of the alleged crimes, Mr. Reiner's indictment constitutes just cause for an immediate suspension to protect the public. Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that:
- Mr. Reiner is immediately suspended from the practice of law in the State until further order of this court;
- Copies of this order and of the indictment shall be served on Mr. Reiner by certified mail, return receipt requested; and
- Mr. Reiner may show cause on or before ten days from the date of service why the suspension should be lifted and why he should not be assessed all expenses that may be incurred in the investigation and prosecution of this matter.
