Morning Mail: Benefit Ski Race
Over the last few years, Bob Parodi's office and our office have participated in NEHSA's corporate ski challenge. This year Bob and I are working with the directors of this race to help convince more law firms, county bar associations and the judiciary to participate by sponsoring and entering teams.
NEHSA is a non-profit volunteer organization based in Mt. Sunapee, NH. It has been in existence for the past 30 years. NEHSA's primary goal is the integration of the disabled into society through social and recreational activities. In addition to the ski challenge, the association also offers a number of summer activities, which include water-skiing, canoeing, sailing and hiking.
The ski school has taught thousands of individuals with disabilities how to ski and has provided over 900 lessons to disabled people (mostly children) who live in greater New England. There is a senior division (those born prior to 3/12/55) and, I hope, a legal/judicial division. Awards will include the fastest team score, three top finishers (men and women), fastest masters, male and female and fastest boarder. There will be awards for the best family score and the quickest tele-skier, also.
The corporate ski challenge consists of four-person teams. The cost is $275 per team, which includes four lift tickets for the day. Lunch costs an additional $5.
This is a great opportunity for law firms, local bars, and the courts to receive positive publicity in NH and throughout New England, while at the same time cruising the slopes of Mt. Sunapee and supporting a worthy cause.
