In Memoriam: Frederic T. Greenhalge
Frederic T. Greenhalge of Dunbarton died of a stroke on February 10, 2005, at his maple sugar house. The son of former Superior Court Justice Frederic B. Greenhalge and Ruth (Ivy) Greenhalge, he was a graduate of George Washington University and became a member of the NH Bar in 1958.
Attorney Greenhalge served in the Army during World War II and afterwards became an interpreter for the Nuremberg Trials. He worked for the CIA from 1947 to '57 and in 1958 moved his family to Dunbarton. He initially practiced law with Wadleigh, Landell, Tarr & Peters, Manchester, and later served as a NH assistant attorney general.
Greenhalge became a district court judge in Henniker, maintained law offices in Pittsfield and in Concord and then started Branch & Greenhalge in Concord in 1980. He retired in May of 2004.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Greenhalge, a son Eric, a daughter Lucinda Beattie, a grandson, three granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
