Interested in International Law?
FORMER U.S. AMBASSADOR to Belize George Bruno, who has returned to practice in Manchester, has expressed interest in forming an International Law Section of the NHBA.
According to a letter from Bruno, "The Section's mission would be to enhance the understanding of international law; to promote the rule of law; to educate and to keep the NH legal community informed of important legal developments across the world; and to provide guidance and support on a wide range of international issues, including trade, immigration, and international human rights law."
"The complex interdependence of the global economy and the increasing cooperation of the world community have ensured that international law issues will be enduring," Bruno said.
New Sections are authorized by vote of the NHBA Board of Governors once a petition signed by at least 30 NHBA members expressing an interest in the Section has been submitted, along with a proposed set of bylaws. Bar members interested in signing such a petition may contact Denice DeStefano, assistant executive director of the NHBA, at ddestefano@nhbar.org.
