Ralph A. Barbagallo, Jr. is New President of Rockingham County Bar
The Rockingham County Bar Association held its 2005 annual meeting and spring dinner at the Inn of Exeter on May 12, 2005. Ralph A. Barbagallo, Jr. of Salem, elected president for the upcoming term, presented outgoing president Andrea Sennott of Portsmouth with a plaque for her dedicated service. Other officers and directors for the 05-06 term are: Vice President Patrick Devine, Plaistow; Secretary Raymond Taylor, Brentwood; Treasurer Daniel Hartley, Hampton; and the following directors: Robert Battles, Portsmouth; Mae Bradshaw, North Hampton; Jennifer Lemire, Portsmouth; Paul Pudloski, Portsmouth; Ryan Russman, Exeter; and Leah Sullivan, Salem.
Patti Blanchette of Portsmouth received the 2005 Professional Award for her outstanding service to the bar and to her community.
In 2004, the Rockingham County Bar Association established "The Loyal Order of the Rock," a unique and lighthearted society of Rockingham County attorneys "who have practiced law for 30 years or more and who have demonstrated their love of the law through dedication to their clients, community and colleagues." Charter members of "the Rock" include Robert A. Shaines of Portsmouth, Robert B. Donovan of Exeter, and H. Alfred Casassa of Hampton.
This year the RCBA inducted three additional members into "the Rock": Charles DeGrandpre of Portsmouth; Edward J. McDermott of Portsmouth; and Wilfred L. ("Jack") Sanders of Portsmouth. In keeping with tradition, each inductee was roasted by one of his colleagues and presented with a rock to commemorate the occasion.
Attorney Barbagallo announced that the RCBA would host the First Annual "RCBA Exchange Program" next Sept. 30th in Brentwood and Portsmouth, as members of the Rockingham County Bar Associations of Virginia and North Carolina join with New Hampshire's RCBA for some "Yankee hospitality."
Barbagallo earned his law degree at Boston University School of Law and has served previously as both governor for Rockingham County and as governor-at-large for the NH Trial Lawyers Association. The Barbagallo firm is located in Salem with offices in Hampton and in Andover, Mass. and concentrates on wrongful death, product liability, professional malpractice, auto accidents and general negligence cases in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
NHBA President-elect Richard J. Uchida and NHBA Executive Director Jeannine McCoy attended the meeting on behalf of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
