NH Division of Child Support Services Reviews Child Support Guidelines

IN ACCORDANCE WITH RSA 458-C:6, the New Hampshire Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is conducting a review of the NH State Child Support Guidelines. As part of the review DCSS will provide the public with an opportunity to share comments on the adequacy of the current guidelines.

Comments may be mailed electronically to guidelinesreview@dhhs.state.nh.us. Written comments may be mailed to: DCSS, Guidelines Review, 129 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301-3857. Written comments will be accepted through Aug. 31, 2001.

Public hearings will be held as well. DCSS will conduct both a morning and afternoon session on Friday, Aug. 31, 2001. The morning session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. The afternoon session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the Brown Building, 129 Pleasant Street, Concord.

Comments offered at the hearings will be recorded to ensure their accuracy. Since the purpose of the hearings is to gather public comment on the guidelines, there will be no discussion regarding DCSS policies or specific child support cases. DCSS also will not respond to questions. Any comments or questions regarding specific cases or policies may be referred to the division’s Client Services staff at (603) 271-4427 or 800-371-8844.

Following receipt of written comments and those from the public hearings, DCSS will transcribe the testimony presented and compile collected data into a final report. The final report should be completed and available to interested parties by the end of October 2001.
