US District Court -NH ~ ECF Filing Tip
Civil/Miscellaneous Case Opening Documents Filed in Paper
Must Also Now be Filed on Disk
For nearly one year the federal district court in Concord has given attorneys the option of filing civil or miscellaneous case opening documents (e.g. complaints) either electronically through ECF or in the traditional manner on paper.
Please note that effective May 1, 2005, the administrative procedures governing ECF were amended to require that all civil case opening documents and attachments conventionally filed by an attorney must also be downloaded onto a 3.5 floppy or compact disk as separate documents in PDF format and received within 48 hours. AP 2.4(a). We strongly recommend that you modify your procedures to submit the disk contemporaneously with the paper filing. If you do conventionally file your case opening documents without providing those documents on disk, you must make arrangements to deliver the disk to the clerk's office within 48 hours from the date and time of the paper filing.
If certain of your attachments need to be scanned and you do not have a scanner, you can either utilize the court's public scanner (please bring your own disk or CD) or you can have a local printing company scan your documents for a small fee.
