NH Supreme Court Orders

Pursuant to its constitutional authority and powers of general superintendence over the New Hampshire Bar Association and its members, the New Hampshire Supreme Court assesses each member of the association in active status as of June 1, 2005, with the exception of full-time judicial members, the sum of one hundred ninety five dollars ($195), and each member in inactive status as of June 1, 2005, with the exception of inactive retired, inactive military and inactive honorary, the sum of ten dollars ($10). These assessments are due and payable on or before July 1, 2005, and are for the purpose of funding the operations of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Attorney Discipline System, including the Professional Conduct Committee.

The New Hampshire Bar Association shall collect the assessment for the account of the Professional Conduct Committee and shall report to the court on or before September 1, 2005, the names of those members responsible for the assessment who have not fully paid.

Supreme Court of New Hampshire

Pursuant to its constitutional authority and powers of general superintendence over the New Hampshire Bar Association and its members and pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 55, the New Hampshire Supreme Court assesses each dues-paying member of the association as of June 1, 2005, except those exempted by order of July 22, 1998, as follows:

Active over five years $50

Judicial $40

Active five years and under $35

Inactive $20

Inactive retired $5

These assessments are due and payable on or before July 1, 2005, and are for the purpose of funding the Public Protection Fund.

The New Hampshire Bar Association shall collect the assessment for the account of the Public Protection Fund and shall report to the court on or before September 1, 2005, the names of those members responsible for the assessment who have not fully paid.

In the Matter of H. Paul Carroll

On May 4, 2005, this court issued an order, in accordance with Rule 53.7(A)(3), suspending H. Paul Carroll from the practice of law in New Hampshire for failure to pay $450 in delinquency fees assessed for the late filing of his certificate of compliance with the Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board for the reporting year ending June 30, 2004.

The Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board has advised the court that H. Paul Carroll has now paid the delinquency fees assessed for late filing of his certificate. It has filed a motion requesting that Mr. Carroll be reinstated to the practice of law.

The motion to reinstate H. Paul Carroll to the practice of law is granted. H. Paul Carroll is hereby reinstated to the practice of law in New Hampshire.

Broderick, C. J., and Nadeau, Dalianis, Duggan, and Galway, JJ., concurred.

In the Matter of Kevin J. Carroll

On April 25, 2005, this court issued an order, in accordance with Rule 53.7(A)(3), suspending Kevin J. Carroll from the practice of law in New Hampshire for failure to pay $50 in delinquency fees assessed for the late filing of his certificate of compliance with the Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board for the reporting year ending June 30, 2004.

The Minimum Continuing Legal Education Board has advised the court that Kevin J. Carroll has now paid the delinquency fees assessed for late filing of his certificate. It has filed a motion requesting that Mr. Carroll be reinstated to the practice of law.

The motion to reinstate Kevin J. Carroll to the practice of law is granted. Kevin J. Carroll is hereby reinstated to the practice of law in New Hampshire.
