Rose M. Anocibar: New Member Services Coordinator Likes Helping People

By:

Rose M. Anocibar, the New Hampshire Bar Association’s new Member Services Coordinator, says she loves her work. "I have always been a ‘people person’ and I like helping others."

Anocibar’s position calls for her to interface with new and old members alike, offering particular help in coordinating meetings and preparing agendas for the various member committees. She is the liaison to the New Lawyers Committee and especially desirous of providing the assistance needed to make their connection to the Bar a fulfilling experience for all new attorneys. "We offer some wonderful services to Bar members and I hope the newer ones will feel free to call me anytime—especially in connection with our mentoring program. We will find a mentor for anyone who would like one."

Anocibar also manages the database for the various Bar committees, keeping all records up-to-date. In addition she is the liaison to the Ethics Committee and co-chair of the BOG Committee on Member Services. "This [working at the Bar] is a new field of endeavor for me, but I have lots of energy and a strong work ethic," she says. "I grew up in the country and we all had our chores. I’ve always been ambitious and I want to learn all I can."

In addition, Anocibar is still going to school. "My oldest son and I started college at the same time. We have had a running competition for top grades! It’s been fun." Anocibar has been attending Hesser College majoring in Marketing; however, she is thinking of changing to Business Administration—and now that she is with the Bar Association, she wants to know more about the law, too.

Anocibar is married and has four sons. "I was the oldest child in my family," she says, "and a real tomboy. I played all sports." She has taught her sons to play basketball and baseball—and is now teaching the youngest (nine) to skate.

"My husband Jean is a pharmacy technician for NeighborCare, a long-term health care company. His parents are from the Basque region of France and he grew up speaking the Basque language. He still speaks it to himself when he doesn’t want me to know what he’s saying," she laughs.

Rose has several hobbies; she is a master cake decorator—and very artistic in other ways, too, involved in projects calling for skills in arts and crafts—abilities which she will use in her position at the Bar as well, since she designs and produces the Member Services promotional materials. She also coordinates the swearing-in ceremonies, provides assistance at other Bar events and helps to maintain in-house schedules.
