Make a Difference with LEAVE A LEGACY®

By:

Anyone who wants to do so can make a difference in the lives of others by leaving a charitable legacy that will live on after one’s own life is over.

LEAVE A LEGACY® is a nationwide public awareness campaign conducted and coordinated by the National Committee on Planned Giving and sponsored by local planned giving councils. At present, there are over 150 LEAVE A LEGACY® programs throughout the nation.  Each program is a partnership of:

  Charitable organizations: social service, the arts, churches, museums, hospitals and educational institutions;

  Allied professionals: investment advisors, accountants, attorneys and trust companies, who assist donors with planning;

  Corporations: promoters of the message that all people have the ability to “make a difference” by leaving a charitable legacy.

The local program is LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT and is sponsored by the Upper Valley Planned Giving Council.

Program Seeks Partners and Sponsors

Since its inception in June 2004, the LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT program has attracted over 150 charities, allied professionals and corporations from New Hampshire and Vermont; they have shown their commitment by becoming Partners and Sponsors.  Charities can become Partners for $100 and allied professionals for $250.

October is LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT month.  In October, this year’s magazine will be distributed and there will be media events to publicize the program.  (A copy of last year’s magazine can be found on the LEAVE A LEGACY® Web site.)  Educational events will continue to be held for interested members of the public.

In addition to seeking Partners, LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT is also interested in finding Sponsors for this year’s program.  Sponsors will receive the following:

  Prominent listing as a Sponsor in the 16-page four-color magazine; last year more than 110,000 copies of the magazine were distributed throughout New Hampshire and Vermont;

  Prominent listing as a Sponsor on the LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT Web site for 12 months, including a hotlink to your organization’s Web site;

  Use of the LEAVE A LEGACY® logo and other promotional materials with the Sponsor’s marketing materials for 12 months;

  Positive exposure for your organization as a sponsor of charitable legacy giving in New Hampshire and Vermont.

Sponsorships fall into the following categories, with all Sponsors receiving appropriate recognition by print size on all LEAVE A LEGACY®NH/VT printed materials and on the Web site: Gold Sponsor ($5,000); Silver Sponsor ($2,500) and Bronze Sponsor ($1,000).  The deadline for becoming a Partner or a Sponsor is August 24, 2005.
