Robert E. Raiche, Sr. Named to IOLTA Grants Committee
ROBERT E. RAICHE, Sr. is the sole nominee for the IOLTA Grants Committee for the 2002 fiscal year, filling one vacancy. The Bar Foundation’s bylaws state that in the event of an uncontested election, the foundation’s board of directors can bypass balloting and automatically appoint the nominee to the Grants Committee. The board, therefore, appoints Raiche to the IOLTA Grants Committee, term of office effective immediately.
Raiche practices with the Manchester law firm Nixon, Raiche, Manning, Casinghino & Leach. He received his law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1980 and was admitted to the NH and Federal bars the same year.
Raiche’s career includes serving for eight years in the NH House of Representatives, four of which he served as minority leader. He was a candidate for governor of NH in 1972. He has also served as U.S. Marshal for New Hampshire from 1977 to 1981, honorary counsel to France and international and national chairman of the board of the Partners of America.
Raiche’s candidate’s statement is as follows:
"I have, and continue to be, a strong supporter of IOLTA purposes and goals. It is extremely important that we continue to provide services for those who are less fortunate than we are and who, without those services, would be confused and ill served in a justice system that all of us believe has basic fairness and equities as its goal.
All of the members of our law firm continue to do pro bono work and support all of the Bar and Bar Foundation programs. It would be an honor and a pleasure for me to be part of this outstanding program, which has such a noble and altruistic goal of providing funding for those who need services throughout our legal system."
