NH Lawyers Support Katrina Victims

Here’s what we know now:

Sulloway & Hollis decided to match the staff & attorney donations made to the American Red Cross - Hurricane Katrina Relief fund. After $12,005 in donations from staff and members was raised, the firm matched the amount and sent $24,100 to the Red Cross.

In response to the Sept. 1 telethon on WMUR, the Attorney General’s Office raised more than $3,000 for the Red Cross/Katrina Relief Fund.

Attorneys at Devine & Nyquist also raised $1,000 in the early days of the aftermath for the Red Cross, and challenged other firms to do the same.

Attorney Susannah Colt of Bedford volunteered for Red Cross disaster relief training and was soon dispatched to the Gulf Coast region.

A Dispatch from Louisiana:

Attorney Robert Martell, a Franklin Pierce Law graduate admitted to the NH Bar in 2000, has been practicing maritime law in New Orleans for several years. At press time, he reported that he and his son were fine, staying in Baton Rouge, and were waiting to return to New Orleans to pick up files at his office and to see how his home and office had fared in the flooding. His major need at this time is reestablishing an office and reconnecting with clients. He indicated that if anyone in the NH Bar has referrals or is interested in contracting with him for maritime legal work, he would be interested.
