Susan Noon | “I like the world of non-profits,” said Susan Noon, the newly named program and communications director for the NH Bar Foundation. “I like it because I have always found the individuals working in such an environment to be exceptional people who go beyond what could reasonably be expected of them—and I like to play my small part in striving to make the world a better place.”
In her new position with the Bar Foundation, Noon hopes to make the process easier for the IOLTA and Justice grants programs and will endeavor to establish a plan to publicize the work of the Foundation and its grantees. “I think the Bar Foundation is serving an important role for all of us in New Hampshire and I’m very glad to be on board,” she said.
Noon is a former marketing and communications consultant and has served many non-profit organizations and small businesses throughout the state for the past 15 years, assisting them in the areas of health care, education, grant writing and evaluation, marketing and tourism.
“I am delighted to welcome someone with Susan’s qualifications,” said David Snyder, executive director of the Foundation. “It is tremendously important to the Foundation to ensure that the grant programs are open and accessible to potential grantees who provide legal assistance to low-income and elderly populations. We also want to be sure the public knows about the myriad ways to access New Hampshire’s justice system through our legal community.”
In addition to her work with the Bar Foundation, Noon volunteers with the International Medical Equipment Collaborative (IMEC), a NH non-profit started by hospital administrators. The organization collects “out-dated” but still current medical equipment that traditionally ends up in land fills and sends it to third-world countries. At present, the group ships to 70 countries.
Noon graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Marketing, Art and English and earned an MBA from Plymouth State University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and for the past 10 years has served as adjunct faculty in marketing and public relations areas at the University of New Hampshire and Southern New Hampshire University.
Susan lives in Durham with her husband, who is a consultant to non-profits and small businesses. They have four grown children. In her spare time, she enjoys weaving and calligraphy and the outdoors.
