'Class of '61' to Hold 40th Reunion
MEMBERS OF THE "Class of ‘61" will gather in Concord on Aug. 30 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their admission to the New Hampshire Bar Association.
A group of about 25 law school graduates was admitted to practice law in NH at a special swearing-in session of the Supreme Court on Aug. 30, 1961. Members of that group, which included Charles DeGrandpre and longtime Claremont District Court Judge Albert D. Leahy, Jr., are organizing a reunion to celebrate the 40-year milestone. Following is an invitation to all members of the Class of ‘61 to attend the reunion:
Dear Fellow Member of the Class of 1961:
On August 30, 1961, 26 young men stood on the steps of the old Supreme Court building to have their photo taken. They had just been sworn in as members of the Bar at a special session of the court. Several of us think that 40 yeas is a significant benchmark that might warrant reconvening in Concord for lunch, getting reacquainted and swapping war stories.
We hope that you will be able to join us at the new Common Man Restaurant in Concord on Thursday, August 30. The suggested arrival time is between 11:30 a.m. and noon, with lunch at 12:30 p.m. or so.
Please let me know whether you are able to attend. We hope that as many as possible will be able to join us.
