In Memoriam

John M. Reynolds

Long-time Keene attorney John M. Reynolds died on August 22, 2005. Reynolds joined the NH Bar in 1958 and had lived and practiced in Keene since that time.

Reynolds served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he earned three battle stars, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Holy Cross College and received his doctor of laws degree from Harvard Law School in 1950.  He worked for the CIA from 1950 until 1958.

He was a member of St. Bernard’s Church in Keene and a past president of the Monadnock Humane Society, the Cheshire County Heart Fund and the Keene Country Club.  He was a member of the Keene Rotary Club, the Keene Chamber of Commerce—and a member of Lindy’s Diner’s morning “Boys’ Club.”

Admired by his fellow attorneys as a “gentleman’s gentleman,” Reynolds was a stalwart of the Cheshire County Bar Association and a member of the American Bar Association.

Survivors include his wife Jane (Brown) Reynolds, two daughters, Emily (Reynolds) Goodell and her husband Martin and Megan (Reynolds) Nolan and her husband William; a brother and sister-in-law; two sisters; and three grandsons.  Two brothers predeceased him.

John Bryan Little

John (Jack) Bryan Little died at home in North Andover, Mass. on Saturday, September 17, 2005 after a two-year battle with cancer.  He was 57.  John Little was born on Oct. 21, 1947 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Army Intelligence from 1967-77.

Little was a graduate of Florida State University and received his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston.  He joined the Mass. Bar in 1978 and was admitted in NH in 1981.  He practiced in Boston for many years and then moved his practice to North Andover in 1998.

He is survived by his wife Michele and by three children and two grandchildren, as well as his mother and sister.

In memory of attorneys Reynolds and Little, the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Board of Governors has contributed to the New Hampshire Bar Foundation, 112 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
