Volunteer Opportunities for Those Who Like To Research & Write

The Bar Association needs your help in communicating to members and to the public about the legal system and legal practice in New Hampshire. Writing is a great way for new and seasoned lawyers to gain visibility, share knowledge, leverage research you have already conducted and provide a service to the public. Here are some of the major opportunities available.

Bar News 2x a month. Practice tips, short articles on substantive topics, book reviews, interviews, and… Supreme Court At-a-Glance, a monthly feature summarizing New Hampshire Supreme Court slip opinions from the previous month. This column uses different contributors each month. You don’t even have to be practicing in New Hampshire to do this column.  Sign up now.

Contact Bar News Associate Editor Bev Rorick at brorick@nhbar.org or 603/224- 6942 or Dan Wise, Editor at dwise@nhbar.org.

Bar Journal Quarterly. In-depth articles pertaining to New Hampshire law and practice. Also, consider volunteering for the Bar Journal Editorial Advisory Board – members help solicit and edit articles and plan future issues. Themed issues, but topics outside the announced themes are welcomed.

Past themes have included: Alternative Dispute Resolution and Estate Planning.

            Litigation – Spring 2006

Technology & Science in the Law – Summer 2006

Annual Survey of New Hampshire Law – Fall 2006 (in collaboration with Franklin Pierce Law Center)
