Finally... A Resource To Help with Everyday Living
The recent NHBA Member Survey Series revealed that many Bar members feel strained by the conflicting demands of their personal and professional lives. Respondents said they lacked time to do what needs to be done. They want to improve their lives, but have trouble creating the time for self-improvement.
While it isn’t possible for the Bar Association to create more minutes in every hour or hire a personal assistant for everyone who needs one, the NHBA now is offering a multifaceted resource available any time, anywhere (so long as there’s an Internet connection.)
The Work/Life Web page, in partnership with a NH employee assistance program, Resource Management Associates, has been specifically designed to help NHBA members cope with a variety of personal and professional issues. It offers programs and information for personal development, as well, through a comprehensive, NH-specific Web site linked through www.nhbar.org. (Click on the Member Benefits link in the For Members area.)
Through this Web site, you can find NH resources as well as information and free online seminars on everything from coping with a parent with Alzheimer’s, to finding a local person to cat-sit while you are away; advice on how to be a better manager, stress-relief techniques, nutrition information, and more.
In future issues of Bar News, and through the E-Bulletin, the NHBA will highlight various timely and useful offerings in this comprehensive Web resource to encourage Bar members to check it out.
We encourage you to visit the Web site and explore its many offerings. Please contact NHBA Member Services Coordinator Rose Anocibar at ranocibar@nhbar.org or 603-224-6942 with your comments and questions. Input is needed as we experiment with this means of providing services to members as they struggle to meet the challenge of balancing the competing demands of their personal and professional lives.
