Charles DeGrandpre Named Honorary Fellow
Charles DeGrandpre, of the McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton law firm, and a longtime leader and supporter of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation, was feted as the 2006 Honorary Fellow at the Bar Foundation’s Fellows Reception at the close of the NHBA Midyear Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16.
DeGrandpre was both roasted and toasted by fellow McLane partner Bruce W. Felmly, his predecessor as Foundation Chair, Kevin Devine, and Lucy Crichton (formerly Metting), the retired NH Bar Foundation executive director.
Felmly summed up DeGrandpre’s approach to the law, saying: “He is someone who understand legal principles but mostly, he understands people. He is interested in solving people problems that involve the law.”
Devine and Crichton cited DeGrandpre’s enthusiasm and imagination in fundraising and credit him with being the driving force behind the creation of the Bar Foundation’s endowment.
At the reception, the Bar Foundation also presented its Justice Grants to several organizations. The Justice Grants are funded through the endowment. Visit www.nhbarfoundation.org for more information.
