2006 NHBA Annual Meeting Preview: A Sampling of Summer Fun in the Mountains

Situated on nearly 400 acres of pristine wilderness and backed by almost 2,500 acres of White Mountain National Forest, the Mountain View Grand Resort offers access to an array of recreational activities, outside and indoors, including:

  • A challenging, mountain golf course designed and built in 1900 by Ralph Barton, a professor of Mathematics at Dartmouth College and renowned golf architect of the early 20th Century. The course was renovated in 1999, when extensive work to the greens, tee boxes and course hazards allowed it to recapture its original grandeur.
  • Mountain View Country Club, featuring a heated, Olympic-size outdoor pool and hot tub, shuffleboard, horseshoes, croquet, badminton, tennis, and volleyball.
  •  Indoor fitness center with indoor pool, Jacuzzi-style hot tub, and steam room. The 17,000-sq-ft facility offers exercise classes, yoga, aqua exercise or kick boxing, free weights and cardiovascular machines.
  • The Northern Lights Children’s Program, operating daily, providing supervised fun and activity for children and allowing parents time for their own activities and a chance to relax.
  • Horseback riding is a featured activity, with the Mountain View Stable, located on the property, offering trails throughout the woods and fields and stunning panoramic views as you ride.
  • Other activities available include mountain biking, hiking, swimming and exploring the local shopping!  Mountain bikes are available to rent and a trail map is provided of places to explore.
