Union Leader Presents W. John Funk with NH Heroes Award
W. John Funk of Gallagher Callahan & Gartrell, Concord, and a member of the NH Bar since 1973, has been honored by the Union Leader with a NH Heroes Award. Funk and his wife Debbie Chase were in the kitchen of their home on the night of June 30 when they heard a loud crash and an explosion. Funk ran to be of assistance, pulling Jason Young, a teen from Belmont, from his burning truck. With the help of the injured Young, Funk was able to free Samantha Redman, also in the truck, barely getting her to safety before the truck became a fireball.
