Gov. Lynch’s recent nominations to fill sorely needed marital master positions for the expanding Family Division are on track for a confirmation vote by the Executive Council.
On April 19, the Executive Council held public hearings on the nominations of Plymouth attorney Robert S. Foley and Diane Nicolosi, of Concord. Both could be confirmed as early as May 3 for initial three-year terms. Following their initial term, their terms would be renewed following evaluations conducted by the Administrative Judge of the Family Division.
Foley, a resident of Saco, Maine, is based in Plymouth and does exclusively domestic relations work throughout the North Country. Nicolosi, a partner in the law firm of Swope & Nicolosi, handles criminal defense as well as marital matters. She served on the original Judicial Selection Commission established by Gov. Shaheen.
Also in the works is the nomination of Susan Ashley, a regional administrator in the Family Division, as special justice of the Rochester District Court. Ashley plans to keep her court position while working several days a month on a per diem basis as a judge in the District Court.
