Reception to Welcome First Circuit Judges to NH
ALL NH BAR members are invited to attend a reception in honor of the US First Circuit Court of Appeals sitting in NH on October 3.
A panel of three First Circuit judges will hear oral arguments on NH cases at the Warren B. Rudman Federal Courthouse in Concord on Wednesday, October 3. Following their session, a reception will be held at that courthouse from 4 to 6 p.m. to give NH Bar members an opportunity to interact with the First Circuit judges and to welcome the new chief judge of the First Circuit, Judge Michael Boudin. The reception is being co-sponsored by the NH Bar Association and its Federal Practice Section.
The reception is open to all Bar members. Special invitees will be receiving invitations, but all others wishing to attend do not need to RSVP.
The First Circuit encompasses the federal courts of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Puerto Rico and Rhode Island.
The last time the First Circuit heard cases in NH was in 1997; the court normally sits in the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse in Boston. The First Circuit occasionally sits in its various districts to give attorneys of that district a chance to see the court in action without having to travel to Boston.
