The following tribute to Philip Cronin was sent in by his law partner Terri L. Pastori in response to an invitation in the May 19 Bar News to provide comments about the 50-year honorees:

“Phil Cronin, one of the honorees, is a partner of mine at Peabody & Arnold [Boston]. Phil was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1956 and more recently [2004] to the New Hampshire Bar (although over the years he has represented clients in New Hampshire with the approval of the courts). Not only has he had an impressive legal career, he is an avid traveler and sailor. He is one of the most brilliant and talented trial lawyers I have ever known. He has been involved in some of the seminal cases in Massachusetts involving constitutional rights, libel, zoning and eminent domain.”
