First Amendment Award Nominations Sought
The 2006 First Amendment Award, sponsored by the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, is seeking nominees to honor efforts by New Hampshire residents to preserve free speech and the press.
The annual dinner will be held Nov. 27, 2006 in Manchester at the Radisson Hotel.
Recipients of the First Amendment Award have included: former NH Attorney General Philip T. McLaughlin (2003); Keene Sentinel Executive Editor Thomas F. Kearney (2004), and NH State Representative Daniel Hughes (2005). Recognized as nominees for the award in recent years have been attorneys Patrice Scott of Plymouth and William Chapman of Orr & Reno, and John D. Hutson, dean of Franklin Pierce Law Center.
