Exeter District Court Special Justice Resigns
Special Justice Patricia L. DiMeo of the Exeter District Court stepped down from the bench this month. In a recent resignation letter submitted to Gov. John Lynch, she called her time serving as a judge “a challenging and rewarding experience I will cherish for a lifetime.” She did not give a specific reason in the letter for her decision to leave the court Aug. 1, 2006.
The Judicial Selection Commission will be asked to screen applicants to recommend to Gov. Lynch for appointment.
Appointed as a part-time judge to the court in 1989, DiMeo also is a partner at the DiMeo and Grant Law Office and Mediation Service in Derry. She has been a NH Bar member since 1984 and is also a member of the Washington, D.C. Bar.
In addition to being special justice for Exeter, DiMeo has also heard cases for the Rochester and Portsmouth district courts during her tenure.
