Pro Bono Referral Marathon
Attorneys Garry Lane, sitting, of Ransmeier & Spellman in Concord, and Dennis Pizzimenti, standing, of Pizzimenti & Immen of Concord, go over the details of a pro bono case pledge form with Carolann Wooding, of the NHBA Pro Bono Referral Program. The two lawyers, along with attorney Ken Barnes, of Upton & Hatfield in Concord, who regularly take pro bono cases themselves, gave of their time during a Pro Bono Referral Marathon, held at the new Bar Center on July 27, to assist the program by calling their Merrimack County colleagues and asking them to consider taking a case. They also surveyed attorneys to find out what kind of cases they would consider taking in the future if they couldn’t take one at the time.
Referral Marathons were also recently held at the Bar Center on Sept. 27, jointly hosted by the Pro Bono program, Legal Advice and Referral Center (LARC) and NH Legal Assistance (NHLA), and on Oct. 4 at the law office of Shaines & McEachern in Portsmouth, jointly hosted by the firm and the NH Women’s Bar Association. In December, there will be several more opportunities for attorneys to volunteer their time at the Bar Center to make calls to their colleagues or to call in to take a case. To participate on Dec. 6, 13, 15 and/or 18, contact Ginny Martin or Carolann Wooding at 603-224-6942, or e-mail gmartin@nhbar.org or cwooding@nhbar.org.
