Ending the Gauntlet Author To Speak at Women’s Bar Event
Laura Stiller Rikleen, a Worcester, Mass., attorney and former president of the Boston Bar Association, will discuss her book, Ending the Gauntlet: Removing Barriers to Women’s Success in the Law, at the next NH Women’s Bar Association event.
Rikleen created the Task Force on Professional Challenges and Family Needs, which resulted in the report “Facing the Grail: Confronting the Costs of Work/Family Imbalance.” In August 2005, she was appointed by the president of the American Bar Association to the 12-member ABA Commission on Women in the Profession.
Her book (which will be reviewed in an upcoming issue of Bar News) offers a “compelling rationale for change.” It analyzes flaws in the structure of today’s firms and is based on the author’s interviews with hundreds of women lawyers and law firm managers from all over the United States.
The event includes a wine-and-cheese reception and a book signing and will be held at Devine, Millimet & Branch, 111 Amherst Street in Manchester on the evening of Nov. 14, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Admission is $25 with RSVP by Oct. 27 and $35 after the 27th. Please RSVP to Kristin Mendoza at kmendoza@morrisonmahoney.com or at 617-439-7591.
