Bar News - December 15, 2006

Did You Know?

That the elected representatives of the New Hampshire Bar Association include a majority of attorneys from small and solo firms, and four attorneys who work in the public sector? Among the members of the NHBA Board of Governors are an assistant U.S. Attorney, a county prosecutor, a corporate counsel, an executive director of a statewide organization, and an attorney for the Division of Children, Youth & Families. Women comprise slight more than 30 percent of the Bar membership, which closely corresponds to their proportion on the Board (7 out 22 seats, or 31.8 percent.)   Only two attorneys on the Board are associated with law firms of 40 or more attorneys.
