Consider Participating in Bar Governance
Each year, active members of the Bar elect officers and representatives to the Board of Governors to lead the Association. The election is conducted by mail with ballots going out in mid-March with a return date of April 15.
Nominations for positions to be filled in next year’s election are being sought for: vice president; secretary; treasurer; (2) at-large governors positions; and county governors representing Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack, and Rockingham. A special election to fill one-year of an unexpired term also will be held for Strafford County.
The Board of Governors consists of 11 county governors, serving two-year terms, each representing a county except for Hillsborough, which has two representatives (each representing a superior court judicial district); five governors at large, who serve three-year terms, and the officers (serving one-year terms)—president, president-elect, vice president, treasurer, secretary and immediate past president.
Petitions for nominations must be submitted to the Bar by Feb. 15, 2007.
