Public Interest Law Golf Tournament
Franklin Pierce Law Center will host its third annual golf tournament on Friday, June 15, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start at the Stonebridge Country Club, Goffstown. The tournament will benefit Pierce Law’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) which provides financial assistance to law school graduates who choose careers in public interest law.
“The state’s residents are greatly served through the work of Pierce Law’s graduates who accept public interest positions,” says Megan De Vorsey, interim director of Pierce Law’s Social Justice Institute. “They work as prosecutors and public defenders, as attorneys for New Hampshire Legal Assistance, and in a variety of posts for local nonprofits; assisting those individuals who might not otherwise have access to justice.
The fund provides needed assistance to graduates serving the public good who do not receive compensation adequate to cover basic living expenses and repayment of student loans.”
