Alton Central Triumphs at Mock Trial
Central School was matched against the Maple Street School from Hopkinton during the Elementary School Mock Trial competition, held on May 25, 2007, at the Concord District Court. Alton came out on top by almost 20 points. Both teams showed outstanding sportsmanship and excellent preparation as they displayed their talents before schoolmates and family in a crowded courtroom.
Principal Michael Bessette coached the students from the Maple Street School and their lawyer-coach was Seth Shortlidge. At the Alton School, Attorney Melissa Guldbranson coached the team, with the assistance of teacher Laura Dwyer.
