2007 Certificates of Compliance
The 2007 Certificates of Compliance will be mailed at the end of August with instructions to comply or to make corrections. Members subject to SC Rule 53 will receive their certificates showing all CLE courses and credits completed from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007. Those who completed the required credits by June 30 will only have to review them to be sure all credits are properly listed, but no further action is necessary unless corrections are needed. Lawyers should have attendance records in their files to verify all CLE credits, in the event of audit.
Lawyers whose certificates show they still have a shortage of CLE credits will have to complete the required credits, sign the back of their certificates, attach copies of the new course attendance records and return them to NHMCLE with a postmark no later than October 1, 2007 to avoid penalties. Those who miss this deadline will be assessed a $50 late fee.
